19-year-old Jacoby Brooks is accused of stabbing to death 18-year-old Cody Souther, 18, in Lincoln County, NC on June 14, 2021.
Lincoln County deputies responded to NC Highway 150 East after 911 reports of a person being stabbed. Cody was located on the porch of a residence with a large stab wound to his upper chest area and bleeding heavily.
Cody was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Witnesses at the scene said the suspect had fled the scene in a vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and Jacoby was arrested.
Jacoby is now charged with second degree murder.
