Joel Brewer, 34, was charged with the murder of Joshua Allen, 33, on June 16, 2021 in Union County, NC. Joel was already in jail on charges of murdering a male prostitute in April 2021.
Mr. Allen was last seen alive in Marshville, NC on January 23, 2021. Mr. Allen’s dead body was found in a wooded area near Wingate, NC on February 9, 2021 sorely decomposed.
Authorities say Mr. Allen was last seen with Joel. Detectives and SBI agents pursued the case as a murder investigation after the Medical Examiner determined Mr. Allen died from multiple gunshot wounds.
Union County Sheriff’s detectives and agents with the NC State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) obtained arrest warrants for Joel charging him with first degree murder, possession of firearm by felon and felony concealment of death by secretly disposing of a human body.
Authorities served Joel with the newest charges on Wednesday morning at the Mecklenburg County Jail.
KILLED IN WOODS
A vast number of people have been killed in the woods in various situations. 4-year-old Mejelic Sandez was found dead in a wooded area.
Catrell Hollaway, 31, was shot and killed in the woods.
Cory Carpenter, 27, was found dead in a wooded area.
38-year-old Cherie Ingram was also found in the woods after being murdered.
The FBI confirmed that 13-year-old Hania Aguilar was found dead in the woods.
A man’s truck was found, and his dead body was found in a wooded area close to it.
