SUSPECT STEALS GOLD CHAIN AT EPI-CENTER CLUB AND FIRES SHOTS

Date:

Reggie Pettus, 25, was sentenced to nine years in prison and three years of supervised release on May 12, 2021. Reggie was convicted for possession of a firearm by a felon. Reggie was the trigger man of a shooting at the Epi-Center club complex in Charlotte, NC.

In the early morning hours on September 18, 2019, Reggie approached a victim in front of the Epicenter and snatched the victim’s gold chain from around his neck.

At the time of the robbery, Reggie was in possession of a KelTec .380 caliber handgun. Law enforcement later determined the firearm had been stolen in Broward County, Florida.

The victim chased Reggie in an attempt to retrieve the gold necklace. Following a brief fight with the victim, Reggie brandished the stolen firearm and ran away. Sometime soon thereafter, the victim saw Reggie on the street and shouted at him.

Reggie fired 3 shots at the victim using the stolen firearm and then ran into the Epicenter garage. Officers responding to the incident arrested Reggie after the victim saw him again walking near the Epicenter and identified him as the person who had stolen his necklace.
