WOMAN STARVES 3 CHILDREN, HER TEENAGE SON WEIGHED 48 POUNDS

Date:

Savannah Lewis, 29, was arrested on Oct. 10, 2019 in Cameron, NC after she starved three of her kids at a home. The children had special needs.

Law enforcement received an anonymous tip about possible drug activity taking place at the home, and when officers arrived, they found three severely malnourished children.

A 15-year-old boy weighed 48 pounds, and his 13-year-old sister weighed less than that. The two teens were so malnourished that they required hospitalization.

A 10-year-old child was also malnourished.

The house was infested with roaches and the floors were covered with trash.

Savannah is charged with two counts of felony child abuse. The county Department of Socials Services was contacted.
