A woman was shot and now faces serious injuries. The shooting was on May 8, 2021 on Kentucky Avenue Charlotte, NC.
At 1:50 a.m. there was a shooting reported to 911 emergency. Officers responded and encountered a male suspect armed with a rifle standing near a female victim that had been shot.
The woman was on the ground bleeding, badly injured from the shooting.
The male suspect fled on foot into a nearby residence, and officers moved the victim to a safe location so she could be treated for a serious, but non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
Paramedics transported the victim to the hospital while officers worked to contain the residence and secure the area. The CMPD’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team responded to assist with a search for the suspect, who was determined to have fled the area.
The suspect has still not been found.
