Monique Williams, 48, was killed in a vehicular collision on March 1, 2025 on Wilkinson Blvd. Charlotte, NC. Jonis Dany Sorto-Lovo, 20, is accused of killing Monique and being drunk while driving. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
On Saturday, March 1, 2025, at approximately 2:13 a.m., Monique was attempting to cross Wilkinson Boulevard when she was struck by a vehicle that was traveling at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle that struck Ms. Williams fled the scene and was last seen driving eastbound on Wilkinson Boulevard towards I-485. Monique was pronounced deceased on scene.
Officers located the suspect vehicle being driven by Jonis.
Jonis was screened for impairment and subsequently charged with felony death by vehicle, felony hit and run, reckless driving, driving while license revoked and driving after consuming under 21.
