Homicide Unit detectives have charged Lazaria Hamilton, 20, with accessory after the fact for the murder of Lester Acevedo in Charlotte, NC.
On November 8, 2021, officers responded to reports of a person shot in the parking lot of a gas station located on West Sugar Creek Rd. The male victim identified as Lester was in a vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound.
Lester was transported to the hospital and was pronounced deceased a short time later.
Lester was originally shot on Merlane Drive. The victim subsequently pulled into a gas station in the parking lot on West Sugar Creek Rd. where he was located by customers.
Lazaria was arrested on November 11th.
