The victim was on a bike when he was hit by a car
Casey Ruppe, 37, was involved in a fatal DWI wreck in which Jeramie Paige, 41, was killed. The crash was on January 30, 2025 on E. Woodlawn Rd. Charlotte, NC.
At 8:22 p.m., Jeramie was riding a bicycle allegedly without headlights and against traffic when he was struck by the a Nissan Pathfinder driven by Casey.
Casey was exiting a parking lot turning left onto E. Woodlawn Rd. when she drove into Jeramie, according to cops. Jeramie died from the impact.
It was determined that Casey was impaired during the time of the crash, police say. Casey was arrested charged with DWI. Additional charges may be sought.
