36-year-old Ruben Delao shot at Officer Stephen Laramore in August 2021 during a traffic stop in Silver city, New Mexico.
The shooting was in the evening around 7:47 p.m. Officer Laramore conducted a traffic stop on a black GMC Suburban SUV. As the officer got closer to the suspect vehicle Ruben pointed a firearm at the officer and fired several shots.
The officer retreated for cover behind cars, and Ruben fled the scene in the SUV. After a brief chase Ruben pulled over and surrendered.
Ruben was wanted out of Colorado for violating his parole from a robbery conviction. Ruben is now charged with attempted murder from the August 2021 shooting.
Officer Laramore was injured in his hand.
