A fire started at a junk yard on Donald Ross Rd Charlotte, NC. The fire was on March 6, 2023.
40 firefighters were needed to control the fire. The fire began in a large pile of scrap metal. The fire spread to other areas of the junk yard. The fire caused Donald Ross Rd. to be closed in both directions.
The fire took 2 hours to put out. No injuries were reported. Water pressure increased in the area to contain the fire due to fire department operations.
The fire also caused low lying smoke conditions in the area of Wilkinson Blvd. and Ashley Rd. Char-Meck Co. air quality control was on scene monitoring conditions and there were no environment concerns for the community due to the fire.
