On October 7, 2022, at 1:29 a.m. in New Haven, CT a police officer was shot. Video shows New Haven Police Officer Chad Curry being shot twice by a suspect.
Officer Curry was investigating a motor vehicle accident when he came under gunfire by the suspect.
The suspect shot at the officer multiple times, Officer Curry was hit twice, once in the shoulder and once in the ear. The suspect fled on foot. The officer was treated at Yale New Haven Hospital.
12 hours later 36-year-old Jose Claudio was arrested and charged with assault in the first degree, assault of a public safety officer, criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, unlawful discharge of a firearm, and reckless endangerment.
