VIDEO: COP GETS SHOT AT GAS STATION

Date:

35-year-old Nicholas Cowan is accused of shooting a police officer on April 14, 2022. The shooting was in Phoenix, AZ as a gas station. Two officers responded to a gas station to speak with a woman who called the police about her suicidal boyfriend identified as Nicholas Cowan.

The two officers were at the gas station interviewing the girlfriend when Nicholas arrived in a sedan and shot the female officer. The male officer took cover and returned fire. The suspect then started shooting at the male officer, missing him and striking a vehicle and the building behind him.

The suspect took off from the scene, abandoned his vehicle, and called an associate to pick him up. He eluded police for the next 3 days, until he was arrested at a property in Scottsdale, AZ.

The tactical support bureau surrounded the location and negotiated with Nicholas for several hours. Tear gas was used to force a surrender.

Nicholas is charged with two counts of attempted murder.

The female officer who was shot remains under medical care.
