On September 4, 2019 near 10:00 pm a suspicious package was seen in an unoccupied vehicle located on Cahterine Simmons Drive Charlotte, NC.
Officers responded to the location and as a precaution homes were evacuated and the bomb squad responded. Bomb squad technicians used a robot to remove the package and it was rendered safe.
It was determined that this was not an actual explosive device and the package was determined not to be a threat. During the course of the investigation, two firearms were located inside of the vehicle.
A person of interest was located on scene.
