TEENAGER SHOT AND KILLED IN EAST CHARLOTTE

17-year-old Moises Hernandez was shot and killed on November 3, 2021 in Charlotte, NC. Dalton Neel, 26, is charged with the shooting death of Moises.

At 5:00 a.m., officers were alerted to a suspicious person’s dispatch at apartments on McAlpine Glen Drive. After responding to that location, officers located Moises who had sustained a gunshot wound.

Medic transported Moises to Atrium Health Main Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased hours later.

Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to investigate, while the Crime Scene Search Unit responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence.

From the information and evidence obtained, Dalton was identified as a person of interest in this case. Following an interview with detectives, Dalton was arrested and charged with voluntary manslaughter.

Another teenager was shot and killed a few weeks ago.
