On March 20 Makel shot the teen around 8 p.m. outside of an apartment complex on Walsh Boulevard. The victim was transported to Atrium Health by Medic for treatment.
The victim and suspect were known to one another. Sadler was on scene and agreed to speak with detectives. He was subsequently charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, Shooting in the City Limits and Destruction of Evidence.
