TWO BUSTED WITH CRACK COCAINE IN STOLEN RENTAL CAR

Date:

Cameron Torrence, 24, and Javiere Green, 19, rode around in a stolen vehicle while they were in possession of crack cocaine in Charlotte, NC. They are now both in jail.

On Wednesday, March 20, 2019, the Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) advised that there was an occupied stolen vehicle License Plate Reader (LPR) hit on Bradford Drive near Lynn Street. The stolen vehicle was a 2018 white Nissan Altima that was a failure to return rental car.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s helicopter quickly located the stolen vehicle and provided patrol officers the location in an attempt to recover the vehicle. The stolen vehicle fit the description of a suspect vehicle that had been involved in a series of at least 12 Larcenies from Autos that occurred on March 14, 2019.

RTCC and the police helicopter directed patrol officers to the location of the white Nissan and during that time they also saw that it was in the company of a gray Nissan Altima. In addition, officers were informed that items were being moved from the white car into the gray car while they were parked on North Hoskins Road.

The first officer that arrived on scene observed Cameron standing near the white Nissan and Javiere getting out of the gray Nissan. The officer detained the two suspects and waited for additional officers to assist.

During a search of the white Nissan, officers located crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Officers also searched the gray Nissan Altima and located marijuana and evidence related to several larcenies from autos from March 14, 2019.

Both Cameron and Javiere were arrested on a number of charges.
