The stabbings began on June 12, 2024 shortly before 6:00 p.m., on Randolph Road. A female victim was stabbed by an unknown suspect. The victim was attempting to leave work when a suspect approached her and stabbed her multiple times. Officers were able to gain a description from the victim before canvassing the area and gathering more details about the incident. On June 13th shortly after 11:00 a.m., a male victim was walking a moped to a safe location to make repairs when he was approached and stabbed multiple times by a male suspect. The suspect fled on foot before officers could arrive.Officers began working with the information on the suspect and found his last known address, but the suspect was not home.While still working leads from the prior assaults, officers received another assault 911 call at Freedom Drive and Interstate I-85. A female victim had been stabbed on a CATS bus and the suspect description matched from the two previous cases.Officers were able to verify the description of the suspect through video on the bus and made a quick canvas of the area.
Josiah was identified as the suspect, he was then found and arrested, he is now charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, attempted murder, and armed robbery.
