Nyla Burnett, 18, is charged with the murder of Zion Garcia, 20, on Firelight Lane Charlotte, NC. Zion was shot on August 21, 2020 at apartments in east Charlotte.
Several people were seen running from the scene. Police set up a perimeter and attempted to track the suspects with the assistance of a CMPD K-9 Unit, but the suspects were not located. Zion was driven to the Valero gas station on Albemarle Road after being shot.
An ambulance picked him up at the gas station, but he died moments later at the hospital.
Arrest warrants were taken out for Nyla during the investigation. Nyla was arrested on August 22, 2020 and charged with first degree murder, robbery, and conspiracy to robbery.
