Billy McKay was killed on August 22, 2020 during a physical assault that occurred at an apartment complex on Pintail Place Charlotte, NC.
A physical assault occurred between the victim and somebody he knew. The victim sustained life-threatening trauma from the assault. The victim was transported to the hospital by medical workers where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
The initial investigation has revealed that the altercation occurred in the common area of the apartment complex and that the victim and suspect knew each other. The suspect has not yet been located.
Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. The Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Homicide Prosecution Team also assisted.
