Cops say this Target employee was hungry so he stole chicken, Apple Airpods, and computers on the job, now he can feast on jail food

Michael Staton, 35, was arrested on November 19, 2024 accused of stealing from the Target on 9531 South Blvd. Charlotte, NC. Michael was an employee at the Target since 2020.

A Target Asset Protection employee reported to police that Michael had been stealing merchandise from the business.

Asset protection confronted Michael, and he allegedly admitted to stealing from his job at Target while working as a fulfillment expert.

Michael is accused of taking items from locked and secure areas while fulfilling orders over the course of two years.

A Target employee in north Charlotte was arrested accused of stealing cash and clothes

Target conducted research and found seven separate instances where Michael was found to have been stealing products, court documents say.

Surveillance footage shows Michael stealing an HP laptop computer, Sony speakers, two packs of chicken, a Playstation 5 controller, a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses, two Nintendo video games, two more packs of chicken, a pack of Starbucks medium roast coffee, two car toys, a Quip toothbrush, CeraVe Daily Moisturizing lotion, an xBox controller, an Apple watch, two Apple Earpods, and a Covid-19 Antigen Home Kit test.

Amazon fulfillment center employees are charged with stealing on the job

In total all of the merchandise was worth thousands of dollars. Michael was placed under arrest charged with seven counts of larceny by employee.
