SUSPECT CHARGED WITH MURDERING MAN IN MOTEL ON NORTH TRYON STREET

Joel Brewer, was arrested on April 16, 2021. He is charged with the homicide of a man identified as 28-year-old Raheem Fennell in Charlotte, NC.

Raheem was killed at a motel on North Tryon Street in Charlotte. Raheem was shot and killed inside one of the motel rooms. Police say Raheem was a male prostitute working as a sex worker.

Joel was arrested by the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team, Union County Sheriff’s Office, and the Marshville Police Department. Following an interview with detectives, Joel was charged with two counts of murder, two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.
