Tyquis Jenkins, 27, is charged with the murder of Nathaniel Newberry, 30. The victim was killed in Charlotte, NC on Azalea Hills Drive on February 28, 2020.
An assault with a deadly weapon dispatch was made and Nathaniel was discovered with a gunshot wound in front of a residence. Nathaniel was transported to the hospital by medics and later pronounced deceased by hospital staff.
Officers made contact with Tyquis at the scene on Azalea Hills Drive when they first arrived at the homicide. He was interviewed by detectives at CMPD Headquarters, and at the conclusion of the interview, he was placed under arrest. Tyquis and Nathaniel knew each other prior to this incident.
