On May 1, 2021 several shots were fired inside Carolina Place Mall in Pineville, NC– which is very close to Charlotte. Police are responding to reports of shots fired inside the mall that occured around 5:30 p.m. The shots sent panic throughout the mall and caused a mass evacuation among shoppers and employees.
There is currently a large emergency response in the area. There is no word on any injuries yet. A man was killed at Carolina Place Mall during a 2019 shooting.
In fact there have been several shootings at area malls recently.
On March 20, 2021 there was a violent shooting at North Lake Mall in Charlotte, NC.
On December 24, 2020 Christmas Eve there was an armed suspect at Carolina Place Mall.
A shooting broke out at the AMC movie theater inside Concord Mills mall too.
13-year-old Avenanna Propst was shot and killed at Concord Mills Mall in a violent riot.
