18-year-old Treveon Nelson was arrested on Friday April 30, 2021. Treveon is accused of murdering 15-year-old Sanaa Amenhotep in Leesville, South Carolina. Treveon and two minors have been charged with murder, kidnapping, criminal conspiracy, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
One of the minors is a male and the other minor is a female.
According to police, the three suspects lured Sanaa from her home in Richland County, South Carolina on April 5, 2021 and held her in a stolen vehicle as they traveled to Leesville. Sanaa was shot dead in a field.
Sanaa’s body was discovered in a wooded area off Interstate 20 on April 29, 2021.
The Lexington County Coroner’s office said Sanaa died from multiple gunshot wounds, and officially ruled the death as a homicide.
The minor male is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. The minor female is being held at the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department, SLED, the Lexington County Coroner’s Office, and the 11th Circuit Solicitor’s Office assisted with this case.
