SHOTS FIRED AT CAROLINA PLACE MALL ARMED PERSON

On December 24, 2020 Christmas Eve there was an armed suspect at Carolina Place Mall in Pineville, NC within the 5 p.m. hour. The suspect has not been arrested yet, but several shots were fired which sent the mall customers into a frenzy.

Thousands of people were seen running around and out of the mall once the shots were fired. At this time no injuries have been reported.

Authorities have arrived and are evacuating the mall. The suspect is being actively sought, and it is not clear if he/she is still in the mall.

A man was killed at Carolina Place mall during a January 2019 shooting.

The employee at a store within the mall was eventually arrested.
