Yesenia Lisette Aguilar, 23, was killed on August 11, 2020 after a SUV plowed into her while she was walking on a sidewalk with her husband in Anaheim, CA. The driver of the SUV 40-year-old Courtney Pandolfi was suspected of being drunk while driving and was arrested on the scene.
Yesenia was 35 weeks pregnant, her unborn baby survived and was delivered via a cesarean section at the hospital.
The jeep driven by Courtney jumped a curb and hit Yesenia. Her husband was not hit. Yesenia died after being transported to UC Irvine Medical Center.
The newborn baby was last reported to be in critical condition and being treated in the neonatal intensive care unit.
Courtney is charged with suspicion of murder, DUI drugs causing bodily injury, and driving on a suspended license. Her bail was set at $1 million. Courtney has two prior DUI arrests and could face a murder charge in connection with the collision.
Courtney has unspecified minor to moderate injuries sustained during the collision. Yesenia was a beloved Disneyland employee.
