On December 27, 2022 one person died in a car crash after a police chase on West. Blvd. Charlotte, NC. Another occupant in the vehicle was injured and taken to the hospital.
The chase began at 8:30 a.m., when officers were alerted of a license plate reader hit for a vehicle that was allegedly associated with an armed robbery that occurred December 26, 2022.
During the December 27th license plate reader notification, officers attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle. But the suspect vehicle kept driving and a chase began at high speeds.
Cops used stop sticks, which are a tire deflation device, on West Boulevard to stop the vehicle. The suspect vehicle hit the sticks and the tires went out of air. The suspect vehicle then crashed on West Boulevard.
One occupant of the vehicle was pronounced deceased on scene and another occupant of the vehicle was transported to the hospital.
