The officer was rushed to the hospital and will be off the job for a while. But fireworks seem to be the weapon of choice for protesters.

For the fourth night in a row, weapons were brought to the Charlotte, NC protests by rioters and were used in a complete disregard for the safety and welfare of the community.

Another officer was hit in the head with a brick.

Machetes, bats, explosives, rocks, and firearms were used to threaten the safety of officers, this destructive and violent behavior led to the arrest of 97 people in Charlotte.

Rioters have refused to cooperate and their violent behavior shows their intent to injure officers. Rioters were armed with clubs, bats, poles, rocks, bricks, machetes, a tasers, and they shot high-powered fireworks directly at officers.

Several cops were struck by fireworks. Several officers required medical attention, another officer was struck in the head with a brick.
