NORTH MECK HIGH SCHOOL ON LOCK DOWN DUE TO SHOOTING THREAT

On May 28th, 2019 at approximately 9:50 AM, the Huntersville Police Department was dispatched to North Mecklenburg High School, 11201 Old Statesville Rd., in regards to a threat of a shooting. Officers responded and the school was immediately placed on lockdown.

Nearby schools, J.M. Alexander Middle School and Blythe Elementary School, were also placed on a lockdown status.

Officers were able to locate the 15 year old juvenile suspect who called in the threat and determined it to be false. The North Mecklenburg High School student will be charged with Making a False Report Concerning Mass Violence on Educational Property through the Juvenile Justice system.
