All on Memorial Day:
A man was robbed and stabbed at the light rail platform on North Tryon Street around 9:25 pm. A suspect assaulted a male victim and attempted to rob him of belongings. The victim resisted, and was cut by the suspect with a knife. The male suspect was then detained by the victim and was arrested when officers arrived.
On Bennettsville Ln. at The Grayson Apartment Homes a male victim was at a cookout near the apartment pool and was stabbed in the parking lot. The victim was stabbed in the back. No motive or suspect at this time.
A shooting occurred on Rayon Street at 9:46 p.m. The victim and witnesses were standing on a porch at a residence when a man walked up the street and shot multiple rounds at the house. A male victim was shot and sent to the hospital. A K-9 attempted to track a suspect, but failed. The occupied house next door was also hit by gunfire, although there was no injury at that residence.
There was a homicide on Orren Court. A man was shot dead while seating in his vehicle.
A man was shot at the pool of The Flats at Mallard Creek apartment complex located on Education Way. Officers responded to the pool at the apartment complex after receiving numerous 911 calls of shots being fired. The victim was shot while at the pool and was already being transported to the hospital by friends/associates prior to emergency officials arriving. The victim has serious injuries. No arrest have been made.
