Eric Lockett, a basketball player with NC State University, has been charged with assault. Lockett is accused of hitting a woman in the face.
Lockett is a guard on the team in his senior season.
Lockett, 23, was processed in the Wake County jail on Thursday morning. Wake County Magistrate said Lockett was scheduled for his first court appearance Thursday, where he will likely have his bond set.
