Alexis Garth, 26, was shot and killed on Jan. 1, 2023 in Athens, Alabama. Alexis was a mother of 2 daughters, ages 3-years-old and 8 months. Ky’ruan Yarbrough, 20, is the boyfriend of Alexis, Ky’ruan is charged with Alexis’s murder.
Alexis was trying to break things off with Ky’ruan. They were living together and had been in a relationship for a year.
Ky’ruan had allegedly become abusive towards Alexis. On New Year’s Day around 4 a.m. Alexis was shot 5 times while in her driveway, in front of her 3-year-old child.
911 was called by neighbors and Alexis was taken to Huntsville Hospital. She later died in emergency care. Ky’ruan was arrested at the scene and charged with murder. The 2 children are safe with family now.
