A small family of 3 all died from a fentanyl and cocaine overdose in Charlotte, NC. Markayla Johnson, 22, and her two children 4-year-old Miracle Johnson and 7-month-old Messiah Johnson all had lethal amounts of fentanyl and cocaine. They also had blunt force trauma. Benjamin Taylor, 35, was arrested charged with murdering all 3 of the victims.
Markayla was found dead at an apartment on Orchard Trace Lane in Charlotte on March 16, 2024. Benjamin Taylor is the ex-boyfriend of Markayla. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
Markayla and her kids had been missing for over a week. Cops searched Markayla’s apartment and found her and her children dead. They all had severe physical injuries and were decomposed.
Markayla’s body was in a large plastic storage bin inside a bedroom closet.

Miracle and Messiah were found in Benjamin’s car trunk wrapped in gym bags. Miracle had bruising around her face and neck, her wrists were tied together and her head was covered by diapers.

Messiah also had blunt force trauma to his head. Markayala had very high levels of fentanyl and the opioid reversal drug naloxone in her system. Fentanyl is a leading cause of death in Charlotte.
Messiah had cocaine and fentanyl in his system. Miracle had fentanyl in her system too. All three victims died from fentanyl poisoning.
