MOM PLEADS GUILTY TO MURDERING HER BABY GIRL, VICTIM SWALLOWED FENTANYL PILLS

On February 17, 2025 Rhondasha McNair, 24, was sentenced to prison for murdering her 21-month-old daughter Reign McNair in Gaston County, NC. Charlotte Alerts is on Instagram.

Reign was killed on 11/7/2023 at 10:52 a.m. Officers from the Gastonia Police Department responded to a residence in Gastonia, NC about the cardiac arrest of an unresponsive 21-month-old baby. 

Upon arrival, officers assisted with CPR efforts. While doing so, officers discovered that the child had swallowed blue percocet pills laced with fentanyl. The drug fentanyl has taken many lives in Charlotte.

The child was transported to the hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. Rhondasha was at the home when her daughter Reign swallowed the fentanyl. 

The mother was arrested charged with second degree murder without regard and felony neglect child abuse. 

Rhondasha had an addiction to opioids due to her having sickle cell anemia. But over time her dependence on legal prescription medicine led to her getting hooked on illegal drugs such as fentanyl.

Rhondasha pleaded guilty to second degree murder and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
