MECKLENBURG COUNTY JAIL RELEASES MURDER SUSPECT BY MISTAKE

Date:

The jail in Charlotte, NC released murder suspect Jaylan Davis, 25, from the jail by mistake on April 13, 2023.

Jaylan Davis

Jaylan was arrested in November 2022 charged with the murder of Arthur Mikulski, 42.

Jaylan was released by the jail due to a clerical error that showed his murder charges were dismissed.

Hours later, prosecutors contacted the jail and said that Jaylen’s charges were not dropped. Cops reached out to Jaylen via his contact information, and he turned himself in early Saturday morning April 15th.

Mismanagement of the jail under the leadership of the sheriff Garry McFadden is common, in fact less than a year ago Quay Davis was was accidentally released from the same jail, and was on the run for weeks.

The Mecklenburg County jail was even deemed unsafe.

See here how the state of North Carolina said conditions at the jail were horrible and jeopardized inmate safety.
