On Sunday, March 24, 2019 officers responded to Sandburg Avenue Charlotte, NC regarding reports of a secret peeping incident. Officers began to investigate the incident while on scene, and Li was interviewed by Crimes Against Children Unit detectives at police headquarters.
The investigation revealed Li secretly used a recording device to capture video footage of an unclothed, 14-year-old female, who is known to him.
Collaborative efforts between officers and Crimes Against Children Unit detectives ultimately resulted in the arrest of Li.
Li was charged with 16 counts of Peeping Using a Photographic Imaging Device.
