A fatal motor vehicle head on collision took the life of Gustavo Leobardo Lopez-Cuarez, 38, in Charlotte, NC. 46-year-old Ryan Minch was arrested and charged with DWI among other charges.
The deadly wreck was on August 28, 2021 in the afternoon. Ryan was operating a Chevrolet SUV on Johnston Road Charlotte, NC at what officials say was a high rate of speed.
Ryan lost control of the Chevrolet, causing the vehicle to travel over the median. The Chevrolet then collided with a Toyota car head-on. The Toyota was driven by Gustavo.
Both vehicles suffered heavy damages. Gustavo was pronounced deceased on scene by medic.
It was determined by officers that Ryan was impaired at the time of the crash. After the collision, Ryan was treated and released from the hospital. Ryan had extensive bruising to his face.
Ryan was then arrested and charged with felony death by vehicle, DWI, reckless driving, and open container of alcoholic beverage.
