Reginald Tutt, 43, was killed on December 11, 2022 in a motor vehicle crash on Independence Blvd. Charlotte, NC.
The crash was at 8:00 p.m. Reginald was on foot crossing Independence Boulevard when he was hit by a Toyota vehicle. Reginald was not in a marked crosswalk, he was wearing dark clothing. The vehicle stopped at the scene and waited for police to arrive.
Reginald was located lying in the roadway. The Toyota had front end damage.
Medics transported Reginald to Atrium Health Main Hospital with life threatening injuries. The victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The driver of the Toyota was transported by medics to Presbyterian Main Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Toyota was also screened for impairment and found not to be impaired. Speed is not a factor in this crash. A toxicology report is pending for Reginald.
