Darne was sentenced on Tuesday to spend the rest of his life in prison. The jury found Darne guilty as
charged.
Judge Eric Levinson sentenced Darne to two consecutive sentences of life in prison without the possibility
of parole.
In 2012, Hawa was found fatally shot at Thereasea Clark Elder Park in Charlotte. She was approximately six weeks pregnant.
Darne told police he believed he may have been the father of the child. He was arrested and charged with the murders in 2016.
