Leonard Washburn went for a dive in Lake Norman and died, all on the 4th of July
Leonard Washburn, 58, drowned in Lake Norman on the Fourth of July 2026 in Mooresville, NC.
Leonard was with friends and family on Lake Norman celebrating the July 4th holiday. Leonard took a swim in the water and sank to the bottom. The individuals on the boat of the victim dispatched an emergency.
Deputies used drones to find Leonard and pulled him out of the water near Bay Harbour Road, but he was pronounced deceased.
