MAN ARRESTED CHARGED WITH MURDER OF MAN AND SHOOTING WOMAN

A double shooting on Super Bowl Sunday 2020 left a man dead and a woman shot in a Uber ride share vehicle

Lloyd Powell, 28, was charged with the Charlotte, NC murder of Jacquez Moore, 19, while Jacquez was in a Uber ride share vehicle. Madison Geise, 22, was also shot in the crime, but she survived.

Lloyd was arrested on February 5, 2020. The shooting was on Super Bowl Sunday 2020.

Jacquez was shot on Old Concord Road along with Madison.

The two victims were catching a ride in a Uber vehicle when a vehicle pulled up next to the Uber vehicle near East W.T. Harris Boulevard and Old Concord Road. 

A suspect got out of the vehicle and fired multiple times at the rear of the Uber vehicle, which is when Jacquez and the female victim were shot. Jacquez died on site.

Detectives with the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team located and arrested Lloyd three days after the Super Bowl. After being interviewed by Homicide Unit detectives, Lloyd was sent to jail and charged with Murder, Attempted Murder, Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury, two counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, three counts of Discharging a Firearm into a Occupied Moving Vehicle, and Possession of Marijuana.
