On March 3, 2023 Darren Marshall, 30, died in a motorcycle crash on Pineville-Matthews Road Charlotte, NC. 71-year-old Roy Jackson is charged in the death of Darren.
At approximately 5:14 p.m., Darren was driving a motorcycle on Pineville Matthews Road at the Echo Forest Drive intersection.
Roy was driving a Jeep Cherokee. Roy’s vehicle then crossed into the path of the motorcycle. The motorcycle struck the front right side of the Jeep. The impact threw Darren off the motorcycle several feet into the air, Darren landed on the road.
Darren was wearing a NCDOT approved helmet at the time of the crash and had a motorcycle endorsement, however Darren still died on the scene.
The motorcycle had front-end damage and the Jeep Cherokee had front right side damage.
Roy was placed under arrest for felony death by motor vehicle. Failure to yield to right of way was also a contributing factor for this crash.
