Reggie Ivey, 27, is charged with the murder of Daniel Carter, 23, in Chesterfield County, SC. Daniel was shot and killed on April 13, 2026.
Around 7:45am Daniel was located with multiple gunshot wounds dead.
Through the course of the investigation, investigators and deputies quickly named Reggie as the suspect. Investigators gathered evidence and obtained a murder warrant for Ivey.
Information developed during the investigation indicated that Ivey had fled the area in a vehicle shortly after the incident.
Flock Safety License Plate Readers were used and the suspect vehicle was located in Monroe, NC. Officers located the vehicle at the Icemorlee Apartment Complex and maintained surveillance while coordinating a safe apprehension.
Members of the Monroe Police Department Special Response Team, along with the Union County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team responded to assist.
Around 12pm Ivey was arrested in the parking lot in the vehicle, he is charged with murder.
