JUDGE ARRESTED, CHARGED WITH DWI

Judge John Lipscombe, 65, was arrested on May 7, 2022 in Travis County Texas. Judge Lipscombe oversees driving while intoxicated cases. Yet Judge Lipscombe was arrested, accused of DWI himself. 

Judge Lipscombe is a DWI judge in Travis County. Judge Lipscombe was booked into the Travis County jail at 9 a.m. He bonded out at 11:10 a.m. The judge is charged with DWI. Details surrounding the judge’s arrest have not been released. 

Judge Lipscombe has been the judge of County Court at Law No. 3 since January 2011. Judge Lipscombe oversees class A and B misdemeanors including drunk driving cases. 

Lipscombe worked as a prosecutor for the county attorney’s office in Travis County before he became a judge. As a prosecutor Lipscombe prosecuted misdemeanor drunk driving cases.
