JAIL DETENTION OFFICER ARRESTED, ACCUSED OF GIVING CONTRABAND TO INMATE

Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office employee Melissa Gordon, 53, was arrested on March 21, 2024. Melissa was a jail guard at the Mecklenburg County Jail in Charlotte, NC.

Officer Gordon is accused of providing contraband to a inmate in the Mecklenburg County Jail. 

Jail staff opened an investigation into allegations against Officer Gordon and found that her actions were allegedly in violation of North Carolina General Statutes. 

Officer Melissa was then arrested and charged with providing contraband to inmate. Officer Melissa was also fired.
