SERIAL KILLER IN CHARLOTTE, SUSPECT ACCUSED OF MURDERING 3 PEOPLE IN VARIOUS COUNTIES

A 68-year-old man was among the 3 victims killed in a serial murder spree

Gerald Barnes, 68, was murdered in a serial killer crime scheme on November 6, 2025 in Charlotte, NC. Also murdered were Matthew Moody, 52, and James Wallace, 49, in Monroe, NC. The suspect is 34-year-old Adam Mercado. Click here to see more serial killer cases.

The murderous rampage began in Monroe, NC where Adam is accused of murdering Matthew and James at an apartment complex on Nov. 6th and then stealing their car to drive to Charlotte.

Adam arrived in Charlotte on Central Ave. and met up with Gerald on the same day. Adam is accused of stabbing Gerald to death and then stealing his car also.

Adam drove to Anson County NC where he was arrested charged with triple murder and robbery.
