HUMMER BURSTS INTO FLAMES AFTER SEVERAL GAS CANS STUFFED IN TRUNK

Date:

On May 12, 2021 a Hummer vehicle burst into flames after the driver filled up several red gas containers and put them in the Hummer. The fire was in Citrus County, Florida.

The driver filled up four 5-gallon fuel containers with gasoline, perhaps due to the hacked Colonial Pipeline fuel disruption shortage. The driver was driving on South Alabama Avenue when the fire broke out and caused an mild explosion.

The Hummer caught fire and was charred very quickly. Citrus County Fire Rescue responded to the scene and put the fire out after several minutes of blaze. One person was injured during the fire.

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection was notified and assisted to organize to cleanup the fuel spill. The official cause of the fire will be investigated by the Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office.
