On January 23, 2021 a fight between hundreds of teenagers at Concord Mills Mall in Concord, NC forced the mall to evacuate and close early.
The fight was around 7 p.m. The teenagers were seen yelling, cursing, and fighting each other. The situation turned into a huge frenzy and spiraled out of control quick. Police were called and mall management closed the mall early and ordered an evacuation.
Traffic was backed up in the area and alternate routes are suggested.
Officer Jason Shuping of the Concord Police Department was killed near Concord Mills Mall in 2020.
In December 2019 a 13-year-old girl was killed at Concord Mills Mall.
And also in 2019 a man was shot at Concord Mills while watching a movie in the theater.
Khali Holmes, 24, was shot and killed at Carolina Place Mall in 2019.
