The bloody drama unfolded in April 2020. Laree and her 13-year-old son got into an argument at a relative’s house.
Laree slashed her teen son’s face with a pair of scissors during the argument. Laree’s son suffered a complex wound to his face that required plastic surgery to repair.
Laree was arrested on the day of the crime. At her 2024 trial Laree was convicted by a jury for assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and felony child abuse.
A judge sentenced Laree to 44-65 months in prison. Her son is now staying with family and friends.
