The encounter originally occurred on May 18, 2022 on High Glenn Drive in Charlotte.

Deputy Jaquan was accused of verbally communicating threats and assaulting a female and male victim.

The deputy also was accused of striking the male victim in the head multiple times with the butt of his gun. The male victim suffered minor injuries.

Detectives responded to the scene, confiscated the firearm, and arrested Deputy Jaquan on charges for assault on a female, communicating threats and misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon.

The magistrate found no probable cause on all charges and Deputy Jaquan was released.

The Charlotte Police Department reviewed this case with the assistance of the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office on May 20, 2022. Police detectives then came back to the Mecklenburg County Magistrates Office which determined probable cause did exist and issued warrants against Deputy Jaquan.

On May 20, 2022 Deputy Jaquan was arrested a second time by cops. A magistrate judge didn’t release the deputy this time, instead he was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, assault on a female, and communicating threats; and to top it all off, Deputy Jaquan was processed in the county jail like everybody else that gets arrested.

Following his arrest, Deputy Jaquan was fired by the sheriff department.
